Wanderer Pants are my personal faves...
I think I have a soft spot for them because I missed the whole skinny jean era - at the time I felt like a tapered leg on me was unflattering. I guess this is similar to how I thought high waisted looked daggy in the naughties too 🙄
Well those days have changed! Now I’m wholeheartedly embracing the tapered-leg.
It would appear that a lot of you are already onboard because they’ve become quite popular since I re-released them last year. I’m guessing thats partly because of the stretch cord too, I mean, who can resist? 🤤
Its been great getting them out there more and getting lots of feedback on them; I’ve been hearing things like
“I’ve been living in them”
And “…wear, wash repeat”
"This is my fourth pair"
Phrases which truly melt my heart 🥰 ( because making good clothes happens to be my life’s calling)
So here I am, letting you know about them, because I think they’re really great pants and now I know a lot of you lovely peeps think that too.
Here’s some more about what makes them great:
They’re really versatile...

They work well as casual weekend pants / jeans alternative. Cuff them for a more casual look.

You can make them look fancy with the right top and a few accessories.

They're a great base layer for a dressed up going out look.

Once they’re worn in, they’re forgiving with size fluctuations.

The stretch in the cord as well as the stretch waistband means you can wear them through whole monthly cycles, or through mild weight fluctuations. Which again, makes them more affordable when we’re thinking about cost-per-wear.
They’re made in Australia, which is a nice thing. Plus, I don’t make a bajillion pairs. In fact, in this run I made about 85 across all three colours. That makes me feel quite nice when I put them on, that I’m not feeding into the whole overproduction situation...

(the overproduction situation)
I’m not trying to create fear, I’m using this photo to illustrate that its disposable clothing that is the problem. The absolute best thing we can all do when buying clothing is shop for:
- Quality fabrics, that last
- Well designed pieces which make you feel good when you wear them; so you’ll wear them lots and keep them out of the bin
- Natural fibres, so they breakdown at the end (to be totally transparent, these do have a small amount of synthetic fibre. Thats the stretchy bit. Its a trade off for the comfort thing, which makes us want to wear them lots ⚖️)
Lastly, I just like how I look in them. Somedays I want that sleek leg look only a slim leg pant can bring and for me, the Wanderer’s are it.
What do you think?
If you’re unsure or on the fence, I recommend heading @slow.fashion.australia for more on what is working for people and what isn’t. We really got into it this week.
